Beelzebelle – Iain Grant and Heide Goody

Beelzebelle – Iain Grant and Heide Goody, Pigeon Park Press, 2016

It’s good to be back in Sutton.
After a pair of brilliant interludes on mainland Europe and Bardsey Island, we return to the Midlands to take in the latest misadventures of Jeremy, Michael, Nerys, and the ever-unfortunate Ben Kitchen. Beelzebelle is wildly funny, Tom-Sharpe-at-his-finest funny, it’s exciting, and amongst the gallery of familiar characters (Spartacus, Reverend Zack, Andy, Lennox) there’s a wonderful array of new faces (Toyah and the mothers of SCUM in particular) you won’t forget. Most importantly, Jeremy is at his chaotic and magnificent best, and with Jeremy on form, anything can happen.
And by the way, if you get past the UB40 reference without laughing out loud, you don’t deserve to be reading this book.
